EFFICIO is a multidisciplinary design studio focused on the collaboration between hand-craftsmanship and digital fabrication. Through the use of various materials: leather, wood, plastic and metals, EFFICIO produces products at all scales: jewelry, bags, clothing, furniture and architectural installations. With the use of 3D printer, laser cutters and CNC routers, EFFICIO is able to experiment with innovation and give clients custom pieces.
I originally started this company to act as a showcase for what is possible within product development in fab labs and makerspaces. The goal was to design, prototype and fabricate products that were shelf ready and easy to reproduce. As I began producing products as an example, people started asking for custom products themselves. This was a great challenge and increased my skill set not only within the ergonomics within the customization of products but also behind in sewing. I currently run two industrial sewing machines, an embroidery machine and a serger.
Through EFFICIO I have been able to secure $6500 in grants and hire interns for marketing and production. This company is the backbone for supporting HYENA CULTURE, which is where EFFICIO is now located.
